Households in Peterborough will need to re-register for garden waste collections as the council prepares to launch a new subscription system.

The city council said residents must sign up again on the online platform to ensure their brown bins continue to be collected after 27 April.

From 15 April, the authority will also introduce a 12-month payment option, giving people the opportunity to spread the cost across the year. The annual fee remains unchanged at £58 for one brown bin, with an additional £31.50 for a second.

Charlotte Palmer, Peterborough’s service director for environment and climate change, said the updated system would offer greater convenience for households.
