Optimara 'Rhapsodie Michele' (8994) 05/25/1987 (R. Holtkamp). Single bi-color pink with purple speckled edge. Medium green, plain, variable red-back. Standard.
First bloom cycle of a very immature specimen. Lots of room for improvement. Impressive symmetry after one month under my care. Prolific bloomer with upright bloom stalks bearing numerous blossoms per stalk. Blooms true.
I water with DynaGro's 'Grow' (7-9-5) liquid fertilizer and SuperThrive's Original Vitamin Solution (supplement) each diluted at a rate of 1/4 tsp. per gallon of water. I saturate the pot from above when the container weighs 75% lighter in the hand than when full. I expose under T8 grow lights for seven (7) hours daily. Center crown shows mild signs of tightening, so I will reduce exposure in one-hour increments until new growth is satisfactory.
