We hired a company to “trim” our arborvitae and I came home to see a murder had occurred in my back yard. Is there ANYTHING I can do at this point? Before and after for reference 😭
Let’s see the work order. It’s looking like this isn’t a tree management problem. It’s a communication problem. You expected A, they gave you B. The devil is in the details. The details are on the quote that you got from them.
My guess is that the specs written were vague and non-committal which frees the pruner from responsibility to any one specific end product.

Issue number 1 is trimming an arborvitae in the first place… they REALLY don’t like being touched whatsoever, which whoever you hired should have known and informed you

Overwrought hyperbole aside this is like asking if you can put 10cm back on a board you just cut.

It kinda looks cool, you could add new bushy dwarf bushes on the bottom to fill in the fence could do some box wood or juniper, some arborvitae varieties that stay round and short..etc something like that

This actually looks good, all things considered.

Having the tops cut is far more concerning than lifting the skirts up😅

Why would you trim an arborvitae to begin with?

These are two pictures of very green trees. What are you talking about?

Doesnt look like they had any idea what type of tree this is and their purpose

What did the company say when you told them how incredibly unhappy you are with the work?

This sucks but I would take off all the fly aways at the bottom leaving a lollipop look and then plant something underneath to fill it back in.
