I picked up this Juniper yesterday, and of course I cant leave it alone for long . New pot with some bonsai soil, some pruning and wire and here we are.
I'm not sure what to do with the 2 branches I marked with blue if anyone has advice I would love to hear it.
Also wondering if I was to cover the base of the trunk and rocks sphagnum moss if it would encourage roots to grow that i could use down the road? Or will this cause issues?
Let me know what you think.

Is that a stock tree from the guy in Park Ridge brissy?
Nice start but if you have just done the “New pot with some bonsai soil, some pruning and wire” part then I would give it some time to recover before you remove any more.
If you just repotted, don’t touch it till next spring. Meanwhile plan your attack.
Keep sphagnum and excess soil off the trunk. In general junipers are not known for their rootage, unlike pines.
