This genus is new to me. It’s on its second year and it is reblooming. But it has aborted a few buds. I know I have to repot it to get better wet/dry cycles, but I’ll wait til it’s done blooming.

-is it normal to abort a few buds?

-do I divide this every couple of years like I would an Oncidium?

I have 10 tolumnias, but never had an issue with aborted buds, and I wouldn’t expect it if you have managed to keep it alive and growing for 2 yrs 🤔. Usually it only happens from sudden environmental stress. What’s your watering schedule like?

And yes, you can divide them every few years if you really want to (there really isn’t a *need* to divide any plant), but Tolumnias are so small it feels a little unnecessary
