You don’t *have* to wait for roots at all. I pot fresh cuttings into most soil without any roots at all and they almost always do just fine. Just keep the soil moist while it grows roots.

I highly recommend putting it in a prop box or humidity dome and give it good light when potting up this size of roots. The humidity and warmth really helps with it adjusting. My props were getting root rot but went from wilt-y leaves to healthy green leaves after I put it in my prop box! I could see the roots grew faster and look amazing now (I use clear pots)
