I’ve had this pothos about a year now and it’s always favored one side of the pot no matter which way I rotated it. I have never pruned it, and the vines are awfully long and tangled, and my cats can reach it which stresses me out a bit 😅

Just wondering how best to prune this? I was thinking of chopping off the majority of the bulk to get the vines about the size of the pot (where my hand is) What do you think?

It looks beautiful but I agree it needs a cut. You can cut where you suggest just make sure you have nodes so you can propagate.

It’s glorious! Why prune it?! Plants that get their light from windows will always favour one side. Rotating can help but it doesn’t prevent it completely so even when you chop it will still keep favouring one side.

I put mine on a trellis or a stake and let them grow up or use plant clips to trail them across walls. Keeps the vines out of reach of my dog but lets the plant keep growing.

Everyone is different. I prefer my Pothos bushy with some length but not a lot. Right now mine are outside under my patio and growing like crazy

Pothos leaves are toxic to animals so keep a watchful eye.

A friend of mine owns an exotic plant shop here in Denver, and he will tell you to chop it however you want to chop it! It’s YOUR plant!
