I never planted cabbage, that I can remember, until last year. I really didn't have room in my raised beds and kind of plopped them in my flower bed before it died in a container.
They looked scraggly all season and I kept thinking they were going to die. But nope. Here they are, just as pretty as you please. Not sure what they will taste like after being in the ground almost a year, but they like the spot and I think they are kinda neat, so I am going to let them do their thing.

Love it. Lots of my garden has been like this. Be aware they might not make a big solid head like you’d expect, but the whole plant is edible at any stage, so even if it bolts, you’ll get some food out of it.
