me: "wtf is that….." 1 hour later: "oh, right"

We're having a combination of warm weather and lots of raining so everything is waking up finally. I guess the first set of solidago nemoralis plugs I bought just went dormant early and I didn't need to buy more plugs, I thought I killed them but I guess not lol. All good, more is more

what surprises are you fine folks finding?

Oh yay!! This is so exciting. Reminding myself that some stuff just takes longer than others. First time owning Clethra – bought ruby spice and just the plain white OG in the fall and thought they had died completely over the winter. Kept snapping little twigs off every week since early March to be sure (they seriously showed no signs of life), but as of a few days ago they both have tiny green leaves popping out!! Def think some of the tips froze off that may need some trimming but yes. Those. And scarlet rose mallow is taking its sweet time too but is also showing teenie nubs 🙂

I have found an almost equal number of native strawberry bush plants that replaced the Japanese honeysuckle I pulled over the winter. Life is good.

Not much yet, but I’m anxiously waiting!! We have a string of warm days coming up 🤞🏻

I’ve been stressed for like 3 weeks that my 3 year old white oak I started from an acorn was dead – but based on this rain and warm weather it is finally budding out. They apparently bud out very late, like hickory

Just trimmed the plants in my hellstrip and was glad to see my grasses and forbs are starting to green up. Anyone need some prairie dropseed? I have a lot that need division.

I love putting too many species in my flowerbeds and forgetting exactly where they are and being delighted with stuff coming back haha

  7. Several things didn’t die! Very excited! 😜

One of the NE Aster I transplanted in late fall sent up a shoot, I just found it today! Hopefully the other two do as well.
