I have a Ghost Pepper plant and a Carolina Reaper plant both flowering right now. They are in a 4 ft by 4 ft area in my side yard about 2 ft away from each other. How high of a chance is there that they would cross pollinate themselves and the seeds would hybridize? Has anyone had this happen and would it be worth trying to grow the seeds?

It could happen. You can make it happen with a q-tip. This way you know which flowers are cross pollinated. It would be a fun experiment to grow the seeds.
Definitely could happen. I intentionally did it inside my grow tent with jalapenos and green peppers. Just fyi, it’s live time cross germination. You’ll have to harvest the seeds and plant next year. Only corn can cross pollinate in live time.
