I have a bell pepper in a 5 gallon bucket (very diy)
When I got home I realized the plant I purchased was really two. They were too close to separate and I was afraid of I snipped the smaller one the roots I couldn't untangle would rot and affect the other plant. So I put them both in. But now I'm second-guessing my decision. This is my first time growing hydroponically, so any advice would be appreciated!

Keep it as an experiment and post back the progress! I’m curious if dosed with proper nutrients if they could survive.. my gut says they’ll fight for nutrients but with that big of a reservoir and plentiful nutrients I would think they could possibly both grow out and thrive.. the challenge is having the small one grow enough to not get smothered out too early I think. But if it can make it a few weeks and develop some healthy roots it may make it.
You could pull them apart. Some root damage at this size won’t kill them. In fact you can take cuttings where there are no roots this size and put them in solution and roots will sprout out the side. Having some roots on each will make with rerooting go much more smoothly.
Once they get much bigger, the plant will not like it.
Just pull up pictures of propagating peppers with cuttings.
