Mint will be huge and overwhelming, it need its own pot and if you give it space – it will take it and double it. How? I'm not sure. But it's Invasive / smells amazing.
I’m also in SoCal and randomly getting into gardening in the summer March weather 😅👩🌾🪴 I couldn’t tell what soil that was, but my understanding is that using potting soil instead of raised bed or in-ground soil is super important for potted plants because it has much better drainage, which is necessary when the soil is kept in a pot and can’t dry out the same way as it would in the ground. Just yesterday I bought some sand and perlite and mixed it into some soil to give it better drainage for my potted plants. We’re all living and learning!! 😅

Mint should be in its own pot though, it tends to bleed over to other herbs haha. Just means you can get a different 4th herb!
