The netminders fought near the Rangers’ net after Sheskerkin was part of a larger scrum behind the goal involving most other players on ice with the Rangers leading 4-1.

Markstrom left his crease and skated the length of the ice where he and Shesterkin brought the crowd to its feet with the rare goaltender-versus-goaltender battle at the 9:05 mark.

Shesterkin punctuated the fight by wrestling Markstrom to the ice, bringing more roars from the crowd.

Rangers fans continued to chant β€œIgor, Igor,” in support of their combative goaltender.

Shesterkin and Markstrom each received five minutes for fighting and two minutes for leaving their creases.
