I live 10 minutes from Putnam Hill Nursery and have never been! I will definitely have to check it out.
My gold dust accuba is stagnant. Iβve moved it over the years several times. It just sits. Itβs in the shade and is a moist part of my garden?
The puppy chaos at the end of this video π
what variety is that agastache? I have the same isuue with them not coming back.
Unpopular opinion: I do not care for acuba plants. To each their own!

Can relate to the panicky time – have lots to be planted out here, too, but expect one more frosty night before the last expected date. . .Still working on the wood chip "mountain" also. Your paths and gardens look great!
I just googled maps Putnam Hill Nursery and itβs 30 mins away! I canβt wait to check it out, those sculptures are so neat!
I've learned a tremendous number of techniques — smarter not harder — by carefully observing you: Raking chips into paths, digging up plants w the least disturbance possible, transplanting, pruning, & for various, different reasons, root-pruning.
"Soil First gardening" is so wise; working in harmony w nature. Watching a guy who did this work for decades is THE best training.
Thank you Jim and Stephany. π·ππ
This is the time of year when I find myself, despite holding off as much as possible, in this fenestrated, drafty old house, using both the a/c and the heater. It's CRAZY, but it happens 8/10 Springs.

Walterβs viburnum is one of my spring favorites. Mine have been in full bloom for about three weeks (in GA) and I canβt stop staring at it, so I shared a video about them this week. One of them turned purple during that Dec cold blast a few years ago but went right back to green when it warmed up.
Looking forward to seeing all your spring planting and updates! I enjoy watching you work through the garden tasks in real time. Itβs relatable and calming to watch, so no need to rush through it π
I LOVE the travel videos!! They are chock-full of interesting things.
(maybe recent world events have postponed viewing the good stuff, just to stay caught up). I'm retired, so I have TIME to look for a Hort Tube video every day.
I invested in a high end extension pruner to minimize my latter time.
Did I miss the puppies?

Hi Jim and Stephanie π Thank you for all the great info. I love Spring π Jen Z9b Texas Gulf Coast
It's go time! Every year, things need to be done all at once. Love your garden tips. I would love to see a video on Holly's and if there are any that can tolerate more shade.
Thanks Jim and Stephany π love the b roll and especially the pups!
Thank you, Steph, Jim.
Oh I was hoping you were getting a new puppy!
Loving the new logo!
Was that a bluebird coming out of your box?
Did anyone see the chubby cheeked face in the tree bark? @23:13
Thk you for this post. Have followed your channel for abit. Liked all of posts. But this post was terrific. First, thk you for intro to Putnam Hills. They had 2 plants I was looking for – inclding a Tx native plant! Second, thks for the nod to acuba. Finally, thks for being a gardener like everyone else – busy lives and maybe abit behind on doing things in the garden.
I live in Pennsylvania abd order from Putnam hill every year
Are there any Acuba that survive in 5b?
I try to watch the travel videos you put up because I find a lot of new and interesting plants in them. And, of course, some beautiful gardens and scenery
