Miami Gardens Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a homicide victim after a woman’s body was found in a lake.

In a statement, police said that on Thursday, March 26, at about 8:39 a.m., officers discovered a woman’s body near 1005 NW 208th Terrace in Miami Gardens.

Authorities later identified the victim as Geneva Bennett Prevatt, 55.

While the cause of death remains under investigation, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office determined on Friday that the death was a homicide.

In the same statement, police asked anyone who may have information that could help the investigation to come forward.
