found this while out walking and I cant stop thinking about it
theres a cherry tomato plant growing directly out of a concrete sewer cap. like on top of it. red, ripe, looks completely normal. no garden anywhere near it, bunch of weeds tho
my question is are these actually safe to eat. because they look fine but its a sewer. I feel like washing them doesnt really cover it if the roots are pulling from whatever is under there .
also how did a tomato plant even get here??? no gardens around, no other plants. did a bird drop a seed or something. how does this happen!
someone who knows about this stuff please help because they do look really good xD

Birds most likely. But the chances of a poomato aren’t zero.
I think by now the tomatoes will be fine
