Golden pothos lost its white(?)


I was given a clipping of a friends pothos 2 years ago, and when i got it from her it was white(top) but now its not white(bottom) and i was wondering if that was normal and it just happens or if I’m doing something wrong

    from experience it may not be getting enough light to encourage variegation. the plant will start to produce more chlorophyll to maximize light absorption, meaning it’ll be more green
