My Calathea warscewiczii is blooming! It’s been like this for three months now. The second pic shows fresh flowers. Does anyone know what happens to the stems after they bloom? Two of them have grown a few small leaves on the sides, but I really hope they don’t stop there

congrats! this entire plant is just drop dead gorgeous 😵‍💫 Never had a calathea bloom tho so i can’t answer. Have a maranta blooming for the 2nd time tho currently and it just continues to push out new growth during/after the blooms

Congrats! Goeppertia warszewiczii develops foliaceous bracts, which resemble regular leaves and grow right under the flower. Basically, after the flower is gone, new leaves will come from the remaining node, but it could become too top heavy. I’m currently propagating 4 of my Velvet’s nodes in water after cutting the flowers and they are pushing new roots like crazy. I think as soon as next week I’ll be able to plant them in soil and start a new plant. Have a look at [this video for a detailed explanation](https://youtu.be/wQYcLCcCcQY?si=EYmDpS0c4kKzeIRG). Enjoy!
