How many of those to keep for final 4-5 plants?

These jiffy strips dry out in half a day

Haha, yeah, those trays are terrible. They get super moldy too sometimes.

But I think you’ve got a little way to go before potting up. I can see the very beginning of their true leaves, but they have to get a good bit bigger before potting up.

Can’t help you with the thinning issue. I always have way too many plants, because I can’t bring myself to thin them out.

    My rule of thumb:

    thin in this stage

pot up when they have their second set of adult leafs

also when using these trays fill them to the brim and keep them a bit moister than this

At any time. I like to keep them in their pot until they’re about to outgrow it. Easier to move them around and easier to fit them into your grow space with smaller pots. But you can put plants into final containers right away or sow them in there. It’s up to you. You just water them more and more until they’ve filled the pot and then you can water the whole pot. I like to go from little paper cups, red solo cup, 1 gallon then 5 gallon and up.
