Hello!
I found this jungle velvet outside of my apartment next to the elevator with a sign that said “take me.” I did some research and learned that these plants can be very dramatic, but since I already have some temperamental plants, I thought, “piece of cake!” It turns out… not so much.
I wanted to ask for some guidance. I’ve repotted her using tropical soil, set up a humidifier, and realized that direct sunlight was burning her, so I moved her to a spot with indirect light. I also only water her with purified water.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds like you’ve got a good start.
Only thing I can offer is once you think you’ve got a good spot for it, just let it be. I find Calathea hate being moved around more than anything. Any early signs of problems you might have might just be from adjusting to the new space. So don’t move it , thinking you’re fixing it
I’ve had Calathea do find in places some might say are too cold or too dry for it. As long as it’s getting enough light I’d say is the biggest factor ! Good luck!
