He even made labels and started a journal. He’s especially interested in their history of medicinal uses. He wants to try to make his own mosquito repellent this summer. He’s has a list of plants to buy, specifically for that.
He’s been going to the local native plant sales and garden expos with me for years. This is the first year he’s done his own shopping and insisted he paid for a plant on his own because “I’m not a baby anymore, mom!” 🥰
We have a big expo to attend in April and few other native sales this spring that we are looking forward to.
Anyway, I just thought you guys would appreciate this as much as I do!

That’s fricking awesome! Hope the chemistry goes well for the bug spray!
👏👏👏 I love the light requirements added to the labels, nice technique
My heart exploded reading this, how wonderful. 🙂
I’m impressed!!! Maybe if I started small I’d have more success…
This is amazing, he’s amazing and you are amazing. I really hope my own son ends up getting into it too!
You did good Mom!
This is so cool! He’s very well organized, impressive.
FWIW, I made my own mosquito repellent recently. Lemongrass seems to be the key. They hate it. I bought some from my local Asian store, replanted what I didn’t use and it’s doing great. I hope you find a formula that works for you guys, but I do recommend lemongrass!
Wow. This is great! I love the hand written notes!
