First pic is the one I have in my room (I have kept it in my room for montgs, since it was tiny), second pic is the ones outside.
The room one used to look like the others just a few weeks ago, idk what happened.

I water when soil is dry and keep it by a window

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

The one in your room is being starved for light

Sempervivum are full light plants. I’ve never seen one grow healthy inside even with additional growlights

The leaves lay flatter/open when it needs more light. More surface area of the leaf is absorbing light. So when the leaves are flat or facing down like yours, it’s trying to get the most sun possible from the environment it’s in.

When they point straight up, they’re not sun-starved, they’re not laying open to maximize surface area, they’re happier.
