Hi everyone,

I need some help identifying what’s wrong with my plant. The leaves have started showing these symptoms, and I’m not sure if it’s a disease, pests, or something else. The plant is kept indoors, about 3 meters away from a window, so it doesn’t get direct sunlight.

I water it about every 10 days. The pot has drainage holes.

Could anyone help me figure out what this might be and how to treat it?

Thanks in advance!

It looks like thrip damage. If you have other plants check them as well.

If you don’t have a whole lot, i’d just chuck it and start fresh. The headache of battling with thrips isn’t worth it.

I think this may be a fungal infection called Powdery Mildew, but somehow it just looks like deposits from hard water. Do you shower it often?

Please ignore the comments saying thrips. This is not what thrip damage looks like. I would say it is either chemical deposits from the water you use or a fungal infection. If the spots wipe away easily it is chemical deposits and can be fixed by using distilled or rain water. If it is a fungal infection you should use an anti-fungal spray or treatment and reducing watering frequency. Not sure what climate you live in but every 10 days for a plant that gets little natural light seems very often. Hope you’re able to fix!
