Unless it’s opuntia, I’m just bare-handing anything with large spines (I find the little ones more sharp and pokey) that is light enough to hold without the weight of it making them impale my hands.

Thorn armor gloves are what I use. But to each their own! I hope your hands stays glochid free 🤗
Tiny cactus needles, as in glochids? Dedicated “cactus only” kitchen tongs will make your life way easier.
I just use tongs for opuntia. Bare hand or leather gloves for short spines, canvas sling for long spines.
