Hi all,
Thank you in advance for your help. I'm super worried about two of my brand new own root roses from heirloom roses (Dream Come True and Rock and Roll) – they shipped two weeks ago and I got them March 17th. I live in Queens, NYC zone 7. Unfortunately the week I was going to plant them, there was a ton of freezing rain and I didn't think they would have survived it. I accidentally under watered them, so today I took them out of their cardboard container, poked a hole in the bag the roots were in (came recommended) and bottom watered them, putting them near a sunny window. I didn't want to put them back in their container (cardboard moisture could turn to mold) so I put them in a pot indoors on top of some soil from my garden in a pot that can drain. I think I need to harden them off because they've been in my apartment for over a week in warmer weather and have started sprouting shoots, but now that I've put them on top of soil from outside I don't know if they'll get sick or get root rot. Monday through Wednesday look great weather wise but there is rain in the 40 degrees on Thursday and Friday. What do I do? Please help me!!!!
