Most tulips decline in vigor after few years. If these are ‘perennials’ then the reasons could be multiple: lack of a cold 8-16 weeks period, not planted deep enough, leaves removed before they are completely died back, or foo much nitrogen.

That rock hard compacted soil isn’t doing them any favors either.

Mine finally bloomed this season after 3 years. I planted them in the ground after buying the flowers bloomed and they went on clearance. And this was the first season the first ones i planted bloom. Last years tulips haven’t bloomed this year but hoping they all bloom next year

Did you plant them 3 years ago or are they older and just stopped flowering? If they just stopped they may need to be dug up and separate the bulbs. They do multiply and need to be split. I do it in the fall after leaves die back.

We have some yellowish orange tinged tulips that have bloomed since we moved here in 2012. I’ve planted others and none of them bloom. / :

Tulip bulbs need to be dug every few years to separate the bulbs. This clump looks like it might have 4 or 5 little bulbs instead of 1 large bulb. When they die back, dig and separate. Then replant as regularly. Small bulbs will not bloom but you see flowers again in 2 yrs.

That looks like moss growing around them; do they get enough sun?

The problem is the lack of cold. There are some other minor. That short hyacinth is a dead giveaway. Those bulbs would benefit greatly from being dug up, and putting the vegetable drawer of your fridge for 6-8 weeks. Try to refrigerate it with using the weather forecast to keep you informed of day and night

My tulips have struggled the past few years too. About half of them bloomed and half of them were leaves only. Any chance you’re in the PNW?

Finally! I was tired of always planting the flowering kind that muck up my lawn. Such an eyesore with their colorful petals and delightful fragrance attracting stupid bees that are “supposedly” good for pollination. Where can I get these? /s

Could be not enough nutrients to make a flower and you should amend and feed, or you had the kind of tulips that peter out.

Feed em some potassium and phosphorus. I’m sure they’re hungry.

They need a cold winter.
Tulip bulbs need to be replaced every 5 years
