The first picture is my succulent that I replanted because I think it had root rot, the second picture is what I clipped off of my original one and tried to propagate. Do I water it now or wait. I’m using indoor plant soil.

Did you let the stems callous before putting them in the soil? That will help prevent rot so don’t skip it. Don’t water it yet, let it sit for like 5 to 7 days. Then just *barely* water it. Like just a little bit of water around the base of the stem. I recommend getting a squeeze bottle meant for plants if you don’t have one, it makes it easier to avoid going overboard with water, which is exactly what you need for props. After you lightly water it, let the soil dry out fully, then wiggle the plant a *tiny* bit. If there’s no resistance, if the soil around the area doesn’t move at all and it seems like it’ll slip right out, there aren’t roots. That means you lightly water it, let it dry out, and then test it all over again. Repeat that pattern until there is resistance and you’re sure there are roots, then you can water it for real once it’s fully dried out again. After that first true watering, you treat it like a normal plant. Keep it in as bright of light as you can for at least 6 hours a day, indirect light is fine for the rest of the day, only water when it’s fully dry. Good luck!
