Got as a gift back in October and it’s just been sitting in the yard in its nursery pot. it would only get watered whenever i’d remember, a few times a month

I’m new to gardening and I’d like to save this plant. I am using an app to understand what its needs are going forward. I can see the root(?) coming out, so it clearly needs a bigger pot. My worry is whether or not it will survive if I re-pot it in its current state

History

Water: Less often than every 2 weeks

Sunlight: Full sun

Location: Outside yard East, with shade around 4/5pm

Thanks in advance

What are your plans for the plant? Sounds like you plan on keeping it in a pot, but what about putting it in the ground?

I say this because while olive trees can be very drought resistant in the ground…. they MUST be watered regularly in a pot in order to survive. A tree in a pot isn’t really something you can just forget about.

It does look a bit dry, but I doubt it’s in much danger. It should make a full recovery if you make sure to water it correctly.
