Hi guys,

I just got this Alocasia about 2 weeks ago, it was in super wet soil and had some spots on the small leaves at the bottom (so the older leaves maybe?). I do have quite a few plants already but none have ever had a fungal or bacterial issue before, so it didn't even cross my mind that that's what the spots might be, it just looked a lot like sunburn to me.

A week after I got it, the soil was still fairly wet and after some research I figured it might be an infection, because more spots kept appearing, so I decided to repot it into a chunkier soil and sprayed down everything very thoroughly with neem oil. There were no signs of root rot and it had around 40 corms, so my guess is that it wasn't doing too bad?

Since then I've had it close to a south facing window and I haven't watered it any more since the initial watering after repotting but the bottom leaves (older leaves?) have wilted, more spots kept appearing and some of them have turned paperlike on the bigger leaves as well.

There's no signs of pests so from my research I would guess it's either low humidity because I live in a fairly dry climate or some sort of infection. What do you guys think? I would really like to save it, I love how Alocasias look and it's my first, so I'd appreciate some advice 🙂

First 2 pictures are how it looks right now and the 3rd was right after I got it.
