what do I do! Just bought this and it has a bunch of runners but no flowers or berries. I untangled all the runners and the lady at the plant nursery said she’d leave it as is and I should have berries in a month.

What would you do please explain the whole process to me like I’m in kindergarten. I don’t know anything about runners or strawberries.

Give it time. Add some plant food. Perhaps more sun.

The runners are pretty much like suckers. Root those runners then once they’re rooted, snip off the runner. You can snip them off then root them too. It’s pretty early for flowers yet, so snip them now or soon.

Cut the runners and plant them. The mother plant is putting it’s energy into runners

  4. I would fertilize with a nice 5-10-5 or even a slow release. If you want more strawberry plants let the pups root then cut the umbilical cord.

Where are you? Sw Ohio and no flowers on my June bearing yet.

It’s runners or flowers but never both. If you want berries you gotta get rid of all those runners.
