I’m not great at posting consistently but the collection has made strides this last year and a couple big time repots was recently completed on my trees while at Mirai. Ryan(Mirai) and Todd(First Branch) will be visiting in a couple of weeks to help me with a bunch more major repots.
1: Gargoyle (Rocky Mountain Juniper): I had wired out the tree last Fall while in class and it rebounded well. The Ron Lang always felt a bit small for it. Repotted into a Grecco container and it feels ideal!

2: Big Twister(Rocky Mountain Juniper): This fella has been a mainstay at Mirai for a long while but I had the opportunity to acquire the tree early last year. Spent last Spring cleaning the live vein and dead branches after it suffered a health issue the year before. Last year’s growth was definitely a strong one, giving us an opportunity to go back into the rootball to check on its health and as importantly, re position the tree. I didnt get an opportunity to capture the finished work (head on shot) but the tree now sits substantially higher above the container and the last of its native soil has been removed. I anticipate styling the tree this Fall if everything goes well.
