So. Moved to a new house with beautiful mature garden. But, three very large blackthorn bushses, that have been left to their own devices for years.

I have managed to tackle one, using gloves, tools and the best shredder I could afford (it broke!) I was left with some pretty severe evil needle hands, and I have two more to tame.

Any advice welcome. I would leave them alone, but 4 children running about.

Ta all.

Best to wait until nesting season is over, then tackle. A good lesson to teach the kids why to avoid for more than one reason!

Cut to the base in Sept. Paint with stump killer. Bonfire. Look out for root suckers next year.
