First bloom on my B. maximiliani. This plant has been fairly challenging to get growing. The first one I bought died shortly after arriving super shriveled. I decided to give this species a second try 2 years ago, and bought a larger one. It arrived shriveled as well and all but one strand died. Because there was only one strand left in the pot, I added some G. mendozae cuttings as a companion plant (provide some shade and also absorb excess water since the pot was much too big for the single strand left). Since then it’s been growing well, survived two summers in TX so far and growth really took off last fall. Super happy to see a bloom finally.
