Just planted a bunch of succulent/cacti in my front yard (Bay Area CA). I watered when planted and was gonna wait two weeks to water again. They are starting to develop dark spots. Temps have been in the seventies and sunny. They get ~6hrs of direct sunlight a day

How were they kept before? It looks to me like it might be due to the dramatic change in light exposure.
It could be sunburn, did you know to harden them off?
Otherwise, I might put it down to stress from distribution, stores and getting transplanted. Make sure the soil isn’t too wet, damp is good like a well-squeezed sponge 2″ down. Their roots need access to air as well as moisture. Then give them time to asjust.
Transplant stress. Back the mulch off from their crowns an inch or two. Like the other commenter said, if it’s 6+ hours of direct sun, they possibly were not receiving that much from wherever they were last, so they could be tender to full sun exposure.
What type of soil did you plant them in?
