The modern marketplace concept celebrated the grand opening of its second Florida location on PGA Boulevard, taking over the 30,000-square-foot space that once housed Bed Bath & Beyond.
CEO Matt Jonna, now a Palm Beach Gardens resident, calls Plum Market the “Disneyland of grocery stores.”
“When I moved here, I realized there was nothing like Plum Market in this area,” Jonna said in a press release. “That’s when we knew it was time to bring to Palm Beach Gardens what we perfected in Miami.”
Founded in Michigan in 2007, Plum Market focuses heavily on partnerships with local producers. South Florida businesses featured at this location include Goodness Gardens, Raway Vegan Chocolates and Funky Buddha Brewery.
WPTV also spoke with co-founder and CEO Marc Jonna, Matt’s brother, about what shoppers can expect.
“We really wanted to create something beautiful and inviting, and make the true champions the brands you see in our store today,” Jonna said. “We don’t push private label—we focus on brands with integrity and traceability.”

The Jonna brothers are third-generation grocers. Their parents founded Merchant of Vino, which was eventually acquired by Whole Foods. Marc Jonna says that experience helped shape the vision behind Plum Market.
“We wanted to create an elevated shopping experience—something that doesn’t feel like a chore,” he said.
Shoppers will also find an extensive wine selection curated by Madeline Triffon, the first American woman to earn the title of Master Sommelier—an honor held by only about 300 people worldwide.
“Wine really enhances your memories and the food flavors—it’s a great combination,” Jonna said. “We put it right at the front of the store because our wine team is so strong on service.”
Beyond groceries, Plum Market offers chef-crafted prepared meals made in a restaurant-sized kitchen, along with a full-service seafood counter, bakery and meat department.
“We’re chopping our carrots, making homemade guacamole,” Jonna said. “You can start at the hot food carving station—it’s amazing. From natural turkey meatballs to salmon, the menu rotates daily.”
Claire Portmann is a long-time Palm Beach Gardens resident and was one of the first in line to get a first look inside the store Thursday morning.

“I’m a carnivore, so I will be checking out the meat department,” Portmann said with a laugh. “And I’ll be checking out what kind of coffee they have.”
Plum Market is located at 2410 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. The grand opening weekend will feature free giveaways and demos.
“I just want to thank the community for all their support, and our team members,” Jonna said. “It takes a village.”
