Hi! 5 months ago I picked up this guy when someone in my building presumably moved out and let it there (I waited a full day from when I noticed it to see if anyone would claim and when it stayed put I took it – last photo is how it looked when I found it!)

I repotted it, chopped off some of its length off the top but now I’m looking for opinions. It seems to be really happy – popping out new leaves regularly and each one looks healthy. My question is this: should I leave it be and see how it does (most likely gonna follow this path) or….

Try to propagate the branch and see if I can get the trunk to sprout new branches and leaves?

You could prop that stem that has growth on it i guess and cut the bottom down farther. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

Put it right in a bright window. Water deeply but let the soil dry before watering again.

Mine has been like that for quite some time…5 years of ups and downs due to moves and being a beginner. The last year or two she’s been healthier and happier, just not branching or growing much.

3 months ago, I decided to move from a south facing window and put her under a grow light and add a little fiddle leaf fig fertilizer every time I water. I’ve continued to water deeply and let dry out completely, just like OP.

Now she’s branching out at the top and looking so happy! I feel like these plants are slow growers – or at least mine is. But she’s so dramatic I don’t want to push my luck 😂
