I'm in the US. I've been told it is honeysuckle and invasive. It's everywhere and makes walking through the woods impossible. i know I need to get rid of it, but I haven't found it in the research I've done.

Picture 1 is a species of bush honeysuckle (Lonicera sp). Picture 2 im unsure of the species, but I dont think its Lonicera, perhaps autumn olive which is another invasive shrub.

Management can be done by either popping the entire plant out of the ground for smaller shrubs (look up tools like the Honeysuckle popper), or by treating those cut stumps with herbicide to kill the roots. If you just chop them down like in the photo, they will resprout from the stumps.

It does look like one of the bush honeysuckles. It would be hard to say which without leaves/flowers, but I would imagine they would all be removed in the same manner.

It’s best to work on controlling invasive shrubs like this in the fall. Cut branches, then paint the cut stumps with herbicide concentrate. This method is very targeted and very effective, although it might have to be done two years in a row.
