Hello friends. I started this sphere a couple of days ago and I'm wondering when I may see some action. I did have a little bug in there swimming around but I'm wondering if he died. Also I'm wondering if I put too much water. Taken out of a lake in central AL USA.

I don’t think you can know. If organisms are dying and none are being produced, I would take that as a sign it didn’t work
Way too much organic matter in my opinion
Hi! So I had a sphere that was looking the same. After doing some research, I found that you need about 25% soil, 50% water and 25% air. Try not to have too much organic material (leaves branches and such) because the little organisms won’t have time enough to eat them, which will lead to the organic material rotting and killing the life inside your ecosphere. You did well by putting algae inside. You should leave the jar open for a couple of days (make sure to fill it with water from the same pond if it evaporates too much) smell it and if it smells well after a few days you can close it. Don’t put it in direct sunlight and try to keep it in a semi cool environment. You will know if it worked I it doesn’t smell putrid after a certain time😅
