A quick way to transplant long-stem seedlings more deeply in a no dig bed, so stems are sheltered and plants establish strongly.
In the soft surface of a no dig bed, it’s quick and easy to make a slightly deeper hole for transplanting vegetables and flowers with long stems. There are supported by the surrounding soil and compost – but notice that I don’t fill the hole completely, it fills with time and rainfall.
You can find the dibbers like this here https://charlesdowding.co.uk/products/long-handled-ash-dibber?variant=49015163191619
Module trays like this are available in many countries, so UK https://charlesdowding.co.uk/products/module-tray-starter-pack?variant=49015164961091,
And in N America https://allaboutthegarden.com/products/charles-dowding-modular-trays?srsltid=AfmBOoqRXYws4FRlgGaKySfvbwyhOtaes69FjZeJtJArVal7PVfD-R7R
The potting mix I recommend is GroWorm https://www.groworm.co.uk/collections/black-gold-50-litre-compost/products/black-gold-peat-free-organic-compost-40l

Thank you I will take your advice โค
โคIโve been seeing red worms under the goatโs water bucket outside in the yard when I dump it in the morning to refill. Sure sign of spring! I filled 2 new raised beds yesterday with compost and am allowing it to rest while the worms find it over the next 5 days. So nice to get my hands in the soil again! ๐
I could listen and watch you all day long. You have given me such a great depth of knowledge I should be better about posting and giving you kudos I will be from now on.โคโค

I get happy when I see worms too. When I find worms out of the soil in the morning, I put them in my garden beds. ๐
I've been planting my beetroot and lettuce seedlings outside today. 17 degrees here in Hampshire, UK, this afternoon.
I have lots of worms from all the leaves I collect. That one was huge. Nice tips. Thank you. ๐

โHi @CharlesDowding1nodig. I would firstly like to thank you for your calming energy and selfless patience to share your decades of experience & sharing the knowledge through these highly informative videos. I'm in the Philippines so not all of the content apply to my area but they are adaptable and still useful information. I try to learn from as many of you then adapt the learnings to my context.
On a different note one which might be of interest to you. One of the gardener-farmers i follow came out with this video comment which had me shocked amd alarmed. I sent a comment suggestion what if you all came together to advocate for authenticity and ethical practices. Maybe also consider having a identifiable stamp on your vids espousing those shared values. Do consider. I will send this same message to all the other content creators i've been following in the hope the idea catches on.
Keep on doing what you do. Keep inspiring and keep sharing. ๐
Oh and i love your books! Thank you for writing them!
Here's the vid i mentioned.
