DFW Checking in. Poa Annua ravaged my yard.

    Forgot to do pre emergent

Targeted post emergent kills very, very effectively

Edit: be sure to use the correct chemicals on your grass type and season dependent.

Poa, bag your clippings so the seeds don’t spread and make sure you put down a fall pre emergent when you are not seeding.

Classic case of Poa Annua. Whatever you do, bag your clippings when you mow those patches! If you mulch, you’re just spreading thousands of seeds for next year. There’s no easy chemical fix right now that won’t hurt your new Fescue. Your best bet is to wait for it to die in July and then be religious about applying a pre-emergent this September to break the cycle.

Poa annua. It will go away when it gets hot.

Crabgrass pre-emergent helps prevent it from reappearing.
