Hi I was thinking about making my paladarium slightly more bioactive so I thought of adding Isopods. my main concerns about adding them is that they fell into the water and they die and drown

has anyone tried doing this?

I have fishes, they rarely fell into the water but the few that did got rapidly dealth with by the swimming creatures…

Never was an issue for me (for now..)

My giant orange isopods sometimes make their way into the aquarium section of my enclosure (it’s separate from the terrestrial section, since leopard geckos can’t swim and the aquarium’s purpose is just to provide filtered water into his small dish), they get in through the vent but there haven’t been any fall into the water yet, they seem smart enough to not do that.

That said, there’s also aquatic isopods you can add to your water section, they do the same janitorial work in there that terrestrial isopods do on land. I recorded one of them foraging the other day https://www.reddit.com/r/isopods/s/h4rS0Mqf1z
