Never done this before. Looking for advice and guidance! Just found this sub so I’m reading through post. But wanted to share my attempt at a start!

  1. That’s interesting!
What are you planting and what nutrient solution?
    Wish you all the best

Wrap those babies in aluminum foil to block the light from getting to the water as much as possible. If you don’t you will have algae take over. Algae will such the oxygen from the water making it hard for plants to grow.

Those are strong lights, start the brightness low so you don’t burn plants.

    Good luck

Nice setup! Are you strictly using clay pebbles in the mason jars? What kind of crops are you growing? You can also cover the jars with dark fabric or foil if that’s easier and more accessible. I purchased black mason jar sleeves which have worked quite well in not developing algae overgrowth.

How is the water oxygenated? Are they just jars, filled with water and nutrients?
