This Orostachys was collected from Nara, Japan.
At first glance, it looks a lot like Dudleya.
But it's actually a completely different genus.
The strong farina and compact form can appear under certain conditions.
Orostachys can be surprisingly variable depending on environment.
Have you ever seen one like this?

Even under the same conditions, they reacted completely differently.
The mountain-derived plant turned red under stress,
while this one stayed pale with strong farina.
It might be a difference in how each lineage responds to stress.
Didnt expect this form of Orostachys to have farina, I only thought those similar to Orostachys iwarenge had farina.
