My bird of paradise that I grew from seed has always had stems that are on the thinner side. I grew this BoP from seed, and is around 4-5 years old now. I want to know why it’s so skinny, and if there’s anything that can be done to make it thicker. I’m worried about it becoming unstable as it grows larger

Bird of paradise are full sun, 4 to 5 years from seed should be very big now, but yours is till quite small, probably not enough light. These beast love lots of lights, full sun preferable. If you can put this plant outdoor under the sun, try placing one layer of shade netting on it, let it slowly acclimate to the sun then to full sun. But of course they love full sun doesn’t mean you want to give them too much full sun, they may burn of too much sun, so keep an eye on them.
