Strata bordering our property wants us to remove this tree because of leaning—seems excessive

Is removal warranted? It’s our only real source of shade in the backyard.

Pertinent info: we built a house 1.5yrs ago about 30ft away from the tree. It used to have a few others around it but they were all taken out in the excavation.
