Contractor backed their truck into a large branch on our Japanese Maple and broke it off. Will the tree be fine?

So we are getting some electrical work done and they backed their truck into our driveway and broke this branch. It seemed like an honest mistake, that branch was pretty in the way of large vehicles.

Is it likely the tree will be fine? Are there any measures we can take to protect it to let it scar that section and heal?
