I’m excited to say that I’m coming to the USA very soon. I’ll be heading over for a special gardening event hosted by Vego Garden in Houston, Texas on the 2nd and 3rd of April. It’s an invite-only influencer event, so it won’t be open to the public. While I’m there, I’d really love the chance to meet some of you in person.

At this stage, I’m hoping to organise a supporter meetup in Houston on Saturday 4th April and another one in Miami on Saturday 11th April so I can say hello, shake a few hands, and personally thank as many of you as possible for your support over the years.

I don’t have venues locked in just yet, so that’s where you come in. Please leave your suggestions in the comments for a good meetup location in Houston or Miami. Somewhere friendly, relaxed, and suitable for a casual catch-up would be ideal — maybe a community garden, outdoor venue, or somewhere with a nice local vibe.

Once I’ve worked out the best locations, I’ll announce the details on my social media.

  1. G’day Everyone! I’m hoping to organise a casual supporter meetup in Houston on Saturday, 4th April, and Miami on Saturday, 11th April, while I’m in the USA. If you know a great spot in either city, please leave a suggestion below. I’m thinking of somewhere relaxed and easy to access, like a community garden, an outdoor venue, or something similar. Once I decide on the locations, I’ll post the details on my socials. Hope to meet some of you there! Cheers 🙂👍 Order my book here: https://www.briobooks.store/products/100-top-crops-you-can-grow

  2. Im born and raised Texan!! Yay! We call yall yankee Texans over there. Well, some of us do. Im further away from Houston now for two years, so I dont know if I'll be able to attend. But I used to live there. Houston is such a big city and its changed a lot since I lived there. I hope for the best though!!!

  3. Hi Mark, I’ve lived in Texas my entire life. All of our major cities are completely different. I’m from San Antonio but am now in the hill country area. I call Houston the concrete city, but now San Antonio is not far behind. If you visit San Antonio or Dallas, get ready for the super high bridges. First, you must go to Buccees, a big one. Second a barbecue place. If you were coming to my area, I would suggest Black’s in Lockhart, the original location. Wherever you decide to go, you must get the “big rib.” I hope you enjoy your visit. Safe travels.

  4. Talk with Chad!! He is the best and he is organizing a community group this month..Down Home Backyard Gardening wonderful guy!! He is in Spring Texas (I think)

  5. Hello from New Orleans! Wish you were passing my way! I’ve got an Airbnb and anytime it’s yours. I’m a Native plant gardener for bees and butterflies!
Check out City Park, 1,400 acres of flora and fauna in the middle of the city! Shrimp poboy on me when you come!

  6. I wouldnt even consider flying into an airport in the US now. TSA, understaffed aircraft controllers, ICE. It is a clusterf*ck on so many levels right now, but if you must, Lord i ask you to watch over Mark.
    ❤️

  7. Well Texas is in the middle, and Florida in the southeast so you will get some variety, but we are out west in the desert. Got your book so that would have been a nice excuse to drop in if you were within the metro area we are in, but the odds were against us. Hope you see some good parts of the country: lots of different worlds, climates, cultures, population densities and vistas, depending where you land and wander here. Stay safe and post some pictures.

  8. I hope you enjoy your trip to the great state of Texas. Houston isn't quite as Texas as it used to be, but I'm sure you'll still enjoy it. Florida is nice this time of year too. I've been to the East coast of FL, but not Miami. A lot of Cuban immigrants down there, they'll tell you all about the evils of Castro and Che Guvera if you want to know. I've heard there's a lot of good food to be found there too. Both those places are too far for me to come meet you right now, but if there's a 'next time' that's closer, I'll be there for sure.

  9. I'd love to see you here in the USA. I'm only about 1500 miles from Florida though so I don't think I'm going to make it! Hope all the political craziness is settled by the time you get here!

  10. Look up Hollis and Nancy's Homestead. They are in Florida a bit of a ride from Miami but they have a really nice set up for their gardening. Find their Youtube page and reach out to them. They are super nice and are great people.

  11. MARK I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT YOU B/C OF THE ARTICLES ABOUT AUSSIE GAS PRICES! JUST HOPING YOU AND YOURS ARE OK!! ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!TAKE CARE!! JUST CNCERNED…
