They did have padding so they didn't rattle too much. So are these young enough that they need extra water? The roots look quite shallow.

Also, I can’t pot them until tomorrow because I have class. Should I be letting them photosynthesize before I pot them?
This is usually how they arrive, bare root and dry. You don’t have to repot immediately even though you should. Just get them in when you can 🙂
They’re fine, I’ve left one bare rooted for a week before and these don’t look wrinkly enough to be worried about water. I’d actually keep them away from bright light since I’ve read the exposed roots don’t like that – certainly don’t put them in direct sun.
They are tough little dudes as long as you don’t overwater🥹
