Thank you so much for sharing. I have learned so much. You are an inspiration to me. I now eat what I grow! 🙂
This was so interesting. Thank you so much. I enjoy your posts so very much. Hope the remainder of your week is wonderful.❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Robbie. I know you've addressed plastic before, but it's a good reminder and education for your new viewers. May they be blessed by eating what they grow!
I never realized you don't grow root vegetables until you mentioned it. The only underground crops I've seen in your videos are potato mint, ginger and turmeric.
I was okay with plastics until we went out to the free dump day and then that when I seen all these broken down plastic pieces and that is when we decided to stay away from buying plactic things and started buying stainless steel, glass and ceramic dish sets and now we only buy plastic things that can be reusable and what you have been doing is great by reusing the things you have for all the birds
I check the number on the bottom of the plastic for food safe. I'm winter sowing and found a couple of nice jugs. But having a number 3 on the bottom, I didn't use them. So, was I wrong not to use them anyway?? Love your hat!!
LOL These people must literally live under a rock. Don’t they know even their water faucets have several plastic parts in them? Everything they buy was packaged in plastic at some time?
You do what you can, but you can’t escape all plastics.
Key point 9:50 mark. Peer reviewed research that I've read backs that up. 👍❤
Like you infer Robbie to do the best we ca. What I think is worst is to obsess over.We do not live in a perfect world.I have read that we excrete some of the microplastic, hope so.Thanks.
People getting cut is why they took glass away from us. I would prefer glass. I am hoping these plastic containers being thicker will withstand getting in my soil. But pray over your garden. God will protect you.
Robbie you are so blessed. Michigan 6 months out of the year we are in snow. No way to get the oranges you have . You are so blessed. So sad California has such awful Government.
There are so many options for gardening as you so eloquently pointed out in your video, that people can choose to garden in whatever way makes them comfortable. I do grow in food grade plastic totes after watching your videos. As someone with chronic pain issues, they allow me to garden comfortably. More concerning to me than the miniscule amount of microplastics I might ingest, is the coating of a product called Apeel now being sprayed on commercial fruits/veg. They claim it's natural and non-toxic, but it can't be washed off and that's concerning because 1) the obvious – it can't be washed off and 2) commercial fruit/veg are often sprayed with insecticides. I wonder if the pesticide is washed off before the Apeel is applied. If not, then since the Apeel can't be washed off, neither can the pesticide. You keep doing you and we'll all keep learning and benefiting. Thank you for the great channel! ~Kathy
I love growing in totes!! So thankful I found you years ago and learned this method ❤
Oh! By the way, have you seen about the plastic rice they’re trying to feed us! I mean, it’s crazy!! Growing in totes makes so much sense.
Thank you so much Robbie. For this in wonderful information, I have been growing my vegetables in plastic buckets. They didn't do so. Well, last year because of the way I planted them, and I'm in the Midwest, so we had a cold wet spring, which is not conducive to producing vegetables in the manner in which I've planted them in the buckets, but I'm going to change that this year, cuz I've grown things in buckets before with great success. Thank you many blessings to you and Gary. I value the information that you give❤❤❤
You're giving people an option for gardening on the cheap. Beside, even if all plastic production stops tomorrow, we have to do something with what is already here. May as well use it to grow food.
There’s plastic in everything around us…carpet, floor, furniture, car, toothbrush, hair products etc…you really can’t get away from it. People wisely try to avoid it, but still buy pre-grated cheese for convenience that has cellulose in it, which is wood pulp or cotton fibers. How does that make sense?
I cannot eat apples. My body will not digest it. If I ate one I would have a knot in my stomach for days.
It's to late to worry about plastic . We are all infected. You say it girl. The truth will set you free. You rock !!! Thank You for this video!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I am 71 and we grew up on plastic and Tupperware
They are putting apeal on the apples on the outside that you cannot wash off. There should be a sticker on the outside of the apple. It’s a Bill Gates thing some kind of pesticide.
Thank you Robbie I grow everything in pots . I grow nothing in the ground and I am 71
I have been watching you for years and I love your channel!!! Now if somebody's complaining about growing in plastic to you ignore them! First of all do they not realize that breads and plastic cheeses and plastic milk is in plastic they wrap our meat and plastic sodas and plastic all of our food is in plastic! So it's ironic that somebody came on here and complain to you about growing food and plastic totes. Honey your channel is amazing I have learned so much from you just ignore the trolls and keep doing what you're doing I love you!! You've inspired me so much thank you
Focus on growing your own food, however you feel best, including using plastic pots, etc. Most of all; focus on being Godly, thankful, and Kind. I always look forward to seeing your videos…..you have the best ideas Robbie. Thanks
Same thing happened when Mom sliced open the back of her hand when a glass she was washing broke. Got rid of all glass and went with plastic. But I do prefer glass.
Bravo two thumbs up
Grew up drinking water from the garden hose still here
If they're hungry enough, they'll eat those vegetables and fruit out of those plastic containers without any problem
I hadn't been watching your videos for a while. I'm not sure why. Just a change of pace I guess. But I've watched several over the past few days. I planted a few things in totes but not much. But today I had a "DUH" moment. One of our local thrift stores has a pile of totes outside that people have brought donations in. I've picked up a few to refill and return with more donations. Gee, I could just bring them all home & soon I'll have a tote garden myself. And they're FREE!!! They just send them to recycle. They love for people to take them.
I agree with you. I was born in 1947 and we ate off plastic plates and used plastic cups also. I am 78 and healthy. My Mother lived to 97. I have looked at all the videos I can and decided to do the totes like you are doing. I have three hummingbird feeders and I am going to use them this year.
You're so right! Even the yarn I use every day, a lot of it is made from plastic, so it's obviously in our clothes. It's everywhere. From toothbrushes to cars. I like to think that the plastic we use today is made better so it doesn't break down as fast as the first versions of plastic.
