A 25-year-old man was killed on March 22 in a single-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Bergen County, New Jersey State Police said.
Troopers responded to the crash at about 11:14 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the parkway near milepost 167.1 in Washington Township, said a statement from state police.
A preliminary investigation found that a BMW SUV, driven by Joel Hernandez of Elmwood Park, was traveling south when it veered off the roadway to the left and struck multiple trees.
Hernandez sustained fatal injuries in the crash, authorities said.
No other vehicles were involved.
The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
